About Us

Imamia Mission (Madressa Jafferia) is a small organisation that was founded by our Founder Syed Ishtiaq Hussain Kazmi, who upon moving from Bradford, W. Yorkshire in 1990 found that there was no religious education establishment for Shia Youth. So he set about in his efforts to establish a Religious school.

Our Founder collected children every Saturday and Sunday, and classes started weekly where a Scholar from Leeds was picked up and we used the Home of a local Momin to hold these activities. Then we moved to another empty property and classes started there and a different Scholar was brought.

After a while, we decided to purchase our own building and came upon a House and made an offer and it was accepted. This house at first served our needs, but the need of the Community was growing so Our Founder by hand rebuilt the building brick by brick and wall for wall on his own. This is how our organisation was created.
