Below are Muslims, whom were influential during their lifetimes. The first of these is Ayatollah Ruholla Khomenei.

Ruholla Khomenei is one of the most influential Human beings of the Twentieth Century according to Time Magazine. He was the Shi’ite cleric
who led the revolution that overthrew the 2,500 year old Monarchy of Iran.
Shia Muslims follow his leadership, as he was the Deputy of the last Imam (still alive). Ruholla Khomenei was born in 1902 to a Syed Family In
Khomein, Iran. Hia father was a religious scholar based in Iran and his grandfather had connections with Kashmir.
Ayatollah Khomenei Khomeini was raised by his mother and aunt and then by his older brother. He was educated in various Islamic schools, and
he settled in the city of Qom in 1922. The Ayatollah is famous for his works on Islamic Philosophy, Law and Ethic. But it was his speaking out against the Government
and Western influence that won him his following.
He was exiled in 1964 for speaking out against Government land reform and Women's exploitation. For this he was forced to leave his country, he
eventually settled in Najaf, Iraq. Saddam Hussein made Ruholla leave Iraq in 1978 and he eventually settled in Paris, from where he toppled the Government of Iran.
He returned to Iran on February 1, 1979 and established the system of Government which still exists in Iran today.
